how does this service fit with the stillpoint philosophy?

We believe that the body really does matter. It is more than a vehicle that serves to carry our head around - it is a vital point of the three elements that make us who we are - mind, spirit AND body. They are inextricably linked, providing access points to our essence and supporting us in it. The body is a crucial point of intervention for change and growth that is available to all of us regardless of age, physical fitness or any other discriminating factors.

Body consciousness is at the root of the service and your Body Matters coach helps you, the client, find your own perspective on fitness in order to achieve the sense of well-being that you want. The Body Matters holistic approach takes account of nutrition, physical activity and focuses on

vitality, not vanity;

cherishing not punishment

The ‘how you are feeling inside' rather than the reflection in the mirror.

  1. How much does your body matter to you?
  2. How do you rate your reflection in the mirror?
  3. What are your energy levels?
  4. How much do you enjoy exercise?
  5. How important is exercise to you?
  6. How aware are you of what your body is telling you?
  7. How do you rate your overall sense of bodily well-being?

how does the body matters coaching service work?

It is a harmonious journey to well-being, bringing you to a place where you are comfortable with your physical self and strong in the knowledge that your body is working as a powerful and essential element of the body-mind-spirit triad.

Your Body Matters coach works in partnership with you using life coaching skills and body consciousness expertise to design what is possible for you, what you are able to achieve. Your coach helps you identify your stumbling blocks. These can be exercise patterns that do not work for you, or mindsets that do not serve you. Then your coach will help you to permanently expel habits and thoughts that limit your being fully satisfied with your physical self. You will work together to creatively come up with a body-mind-spirit lifestyle that you are happy with and which will become integral to your life.


the practicalities

After an initial consultation, you purchase a 10-hour service package that you then consider how best to spend it in conjunction with your Body Matters coach. Here are a couple of examples:

Example A
2-hour meeting with your Body Matters coach (this is highly recommended for all versions)
6 x weekly 40-minute sessions over the phone with your coach
2-hour progress meeting and further goal setting
2 x weekly 40-minute phone sessions
1 completion session of 40 minutes

Example B
3-hour meeting with your Body Matters coach
4 x fortnightly 60-minute sessions over the phone with your coach
2 x monthly 60-minute phone sessions
1 x 60-minute completion session

Example C
1-hour weekly videoconference with your Body Matters coach over 10 weeks where meeting face to face is not possible.

In addition there is e-mail contact with your coach for accountability purposes.
